CHAPTER OFFICERS

These are Griswold's High School Chapter officers and advisor. New officers don't go into effect until the following school year. Check out a brief profile on our officers and what they do! Maybe you or your child can be a leader someday, too, so check out officer duties below! 

Adviser and President

Mrs. Vickie Anstey has been teaching FCS Education for over 30 years. She has been an FCCLA Adviser for 17 years here at Griswold. Mrs. Anstey is very involved with FCCLA activities and is currently the President of the Iowa State FCCLA Board.

 

​Alyx Flippin is the 2013-14 chapter president who runs the meetings; she has been in FCCLA for four years and is currently a State Officer. She loves all the opportunities and the variety of projects available for members!

Vice President and Secretary

Melodie Anstey is the chapter vice president. The duty of the vice president is to preside over meetings in the absence of the president. This is Melodie's first year being the vice president but her 5th year being an officer. Melodie loves helping memebers with STAR Events, it's her favorite part of FCCLA. 


​Kasi Amos is the current secretary. She has been secretary since 7th or 8th grade, and really enjoys working with her other officers. Kasi's secretarial duties include taking notes of the meeting and reading them back in a report.

Public Relations

Morgan McFarland is one of the officers for Public Relations. She has been in FCCLA for three years now and loves participating in STAR events and going to the rallies and meetings. Morgan's favorite part of FCCLA is the experience when she gets the chance to go to the state STAR events competition.

Abbe Roads is the other Public Relations officer. Abbie is also the FIrst Vice President of District 13 North.  Abbie uses her ablility to project her voice to take control and lead a situation. Public relation officers keep our chapter activities publicized by writing newspaper articles and spreding word throughout the community.
      

Treasurer and Food Coordinator

Logan Kentner is the 2013-14 treasurer. His officer duties involve keeping track of the money. He has been in FCCLA for 2 years. Logan's favorite part of FCCLA was going to the state capital and learning about becoming a Page for the Iowa House of Representatives--which he became!

Taber Feltner is the food coordinator, and to simply put it, he oraganized for people to bring food and make sure we are all well fed. He has been in FCCLA since 6th grade. STAR Events and hanging with friends are his favorite parts.

Photographers

Mandi Backhaus is one of the photographers. Her officer duty is to take pictures of any FCCLA related things throughout the school year. This is her 3rd year in FCCLA. She enjoys going to competitions and not having to stress about giving a project, but can still be involved because she's a timer.​


Danika Kentner is also one of the photographers. She has been in FCCLA for four years. She really enjoys FCCLA because you can meet so many new people and get to experience many new opportunities.

Activities Directors

Marlia Rossell is the activities director. This is her 6th year in FCCLA. Her favorite part is STAR Events because they are a lot of fun and have learned a lot doing them. Her best experiences in FCCLA come from her trips to National compitition. Her role is to organize games at meetings.

 

Tatum Dolph is the second activities director. She organizes the games and other fun things for all of our meetings. Tatum has been in FCCLA for 3 years, and has loved every bit of it.  She is a spunky ball of energy that helps keep the chapter optimistic.

President

1. Works with the executive council and adviser to develop an agenda for each meeting. 
2. Presides at chapter meetings using the adviser- approved agenda and basic parliamentary procedure. Starts meetings on time and keeps them moving.
3. Assists in group decision-making through member participation. 
4. Sees that necessary committees and subcommittees are formed and committee chairs are selected. 
5. Knows the responsibilities of all officers and committee chairs and keeps them informed of all 
chapter business.
6. Talks frequently with the executive council, 
adviser, and other program 
stakeholders. 
7. Checks all plans with adviser and school administrator before taking action.
8. Represents chapter at special school events and 
district, state, and national meetings. 
9. Provides opportunities for all members to express 
ideas and share responsibilities.

Vice President 

1. Assumes the duties of the president in the president’s absence.
2. Assists the president as needed.
3. Works with the program planning committee to help members develop and plan a chapter program of work that will meet the needs and interests of the chapter, school, and community.

Secretary 

1. Keeps accurate and complete minutes of all chapter and executive council meetings and 
activities. 
2. Makes minutes and other chapter resources 
(committee lists, activity calendars, etc.) available to the membership.
3. Keeps attendance at chapter and executive council meetings. Keeps a current list of affiliated 
members.
4. Reminds president of any unfinished business prior to the next meeting.
5. Counts and records chapter votes.
6. Assists adviser in processing chapter affiliation forms.

7. Helps create and distribute membership cards to affiliated members.

Treasurer 

1. Keeps an accurate record of all chapter income noting date received, source, and amount. Gives receipts to chapter adviser.
2. Assists adviser in collecting and submitting state and national dues in advance of deadlines. 
3. Records dues (local, district/region, state, and 
national) when paid by each member. Communicates records to secretary.
4. Keeps an accurate record of receipts for all money paid out, to whom it was paid, and the 
amount.
5. Prepares and presents a Treasurer’s Report (4.12) 
for each business meeting.
6. Works closely with the chapter adviser to manage chapter funds.
7. Works with the fundraising and program committees to prepare a chapter budget. Presents tentative budget and fundraising plans for 
chapter approval.
